Stath Lets Flats begins tonight at 10pm on Channel 4. Things were back to normal for episode 5, but the last episode was better than the others, as a number of different plotlines came to a head, with Stath wanting to take over the family business, and what’s the do between Al, Sophie and Tomoko? 😀 Episode 4, less so, with the football match premise. Given that she will also be joined in the company of Kiss Me First‘s Haruka Abe, in the words of Howard Jones – things can only get better.Įpisodes 2 and 3 are similarly amusing, with some highlights here and there, but similarly not essential. Struggling for a sideplot, Stath’s sister, Sophie, flirts with the junior sales guy, and the former is played by the lead’s sister, Natasia Demetriou, formerly taking centre stage in ITV2’s dire as well as BBC3’s very good one-off, People Time, which also featured House Of Fools‘ Ellie White, who will be in Stath Lets Flats later in the series. The best bits, I have to assume come from the mind of Robert Popper ( Friday Night Dinner, Look Around You) However, while there’s some amusement to be had with this fly on the wall sitcom, which also has a bit of ‘ The Office‘ in there, albeit without the mugging to camera and breaking the ‘fourth wall’, so far, I’ve only seen the first episode and it’s just… okay. Estate agents try to act like your best friend when you really wish they’d naff off – a bit like a staff member in Currys.
Stath Lets Flats centres around Stath ( Jamie Demetriou), the son of a Greek estate agent proprietor, who lets out flats… and houses, but let’s not let facts get in the way of a snappy title.ĭemetriou plays up as a bit of an idiotic estate agent who’s quite crap at his job, as well as overly overbearing, but then aren’t they all? Hence, he’s got it down to a T.
